The beach hair look can be enhanced with salt, and salt also stands the test of time with a range of oral hygiene tips.
Beach Hair Effect
Make a solution of salt and water - lots of salt - in a spray bottle. Spray on damp dry hair, then style.  This will give your hair that thick beach hair feeling, and hold spike hair type styles.

Sore Feet
To relieve tired feet soak in warm water to which a handful of salt has been added. Rinse in cool water and dry well.

Skin Conditioning
Dissolve 1 cup of Table Salt in your bathtub and soak as usual. Your skin will be noticeably softer.
Sore Throats
Gargle using a solution made from half a teaspoon of salt, mixed in a 250ml glass of warm water (make sure the liquid is expelled after gargling, please do not swallow).  Gargling regularly during the winter months with an iodised salt water mixture can alleviate sore throats.

Relief From Stings
If you have been stung by a bee, immediately wet the sting and cover with salt.  It will lessen the pain and reduce the swelling.  Of course, if you are allergic to bee stings, you should get immediate medical attention.

Toothbrushes
If you soak toothbrushes in salt water before you first use them; they will last longer.
