Saxa brand are introducing 4 new products to its grinder range. These products incorporate both mined salt and evaporated sea salt. These new products include Saxa Natural Pink Himalayan Salt, Saxa Natural Blue Persian Salt, Saxa Flavoured Smoked Cyprus Salt and Saxa Black Cyprus Salt.

Pink Himalayan Salt Grinder    

Pink Himalayan Salt Grinder 45g: (Rock salt)

Where does it come from? How is it Made?
Himalayan salt is the term for rock salt from Pakistan. It is a natural rock salt collected by craftsmen inside the Khewra Salt Mines, the second largest salt mine in the world, located in Punjab, Pakistan, about 300 km from the Himalayas.

Is this salt artificially coloured? How it is coloured?
Saxa Pink Himalayan salt is not artificially coloured. The pink colour in the salt is naturally formed as a result of the salt’s structure and mineral content. Being a natural product the salt has various shades of colour, from a reddish or pink colour to an off-white transparent colour.

How does it taste?
Strongly salty with a mild mineral-like flavour, a sensation common to pink salt. It can be used to substitute common salt to give a special twist to recipes.

What foods will this product suit?
This salt is ideal for white meat such as chicken or fish, and for flavouring soups and vegetables.
Blue Persian Salt Grinde    

Blue Persian Salt Grinder 95g: (Rock Salt)

Where does it come from? How is it Made?
Persian blue salt is a natural rock salt harvested from the ancient mines of Persia.

Is this salt artificially coloured? How it is coloured?
Saxa Blue Persian Salt is not artificially coloured. It is dotted with blue crystals which are in fact salt crystals that have been highly compressed. The individual crystals reflect the light in such a way that the blue colour becomes visible.

How does it taste?
Saxa Blue Persian Salt has an extremely salty flavour initially, but almost immediately becomes milder, leaving a subtle and pleasant after taste.

What foods will this product suit?
This salt is ideal as a table salt, and it is an especially beautiful salt in a grinder and to decorate dishes. When ground it is particularly suitable for recipes rich in flavour such as casseroles.
Smoked Cyprus Salt Grinder    

Smoked Cyprus Salt Grinder 45g: (Flaked and flavoured Sea Salt)

Where does it come from?
The salt is harvested from the waters off the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

How is it Made?
Saxa Smoked Cyprus Salt is a salt blend containing sea salt and a smoke flavour.

Is the smoke flavour natural?
The flavour used in Smoked Cyprus Salt is classified as a smoke flavouring by the international flavour definition. Smoke flavours are not considered natural.

How is it coloured?
The smoke flavour added to salt not only gives the product flavour, it also contributes to the light brown colour of the flakes.

How does it taste?
As the name indicates, Saxa Smoked Cyprus Sea Salt has a smooth smoke flavour.

What foods will this product suit?
This product is ideal to use on fish, soups eggs and omelette, where a hint of smoke flavour is desired. The characteristics of this salt means the flakes melt immediately when put in your mouth or in contact with a food surface
Black Cyprus Salt Grinder    

Black Cyprus Salt Grinder 50g: (Flaked and naturally coloured Sea Salt)

Where does it come from?
The salt is harvested from the waters off the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

How is it Made?
The salt is harvested from the waters off the island of Cyprus and then blended with a natural black colour (carbon black).

How is it coloured?
Saxa Black Cyprus Salt gets it colour from carbon obtained from the natural process of bark combustion using softwood such as linden, birch and willow.

How does it taste?
It is a slightly less intense salt used for its visual impact on food particularly white fish, potatoes, eggs and soups.
